FISH!
The Fish Man Cometh. Matt Fultz was on hand and documented this important event in the life of the Cove. 1650 fish along with 50 pounds of minnows were released into the pond on October 25th, 2006. Conditions were perfect and all fish immediately swam away. Dwayne, the gentleman delivering our fish, has been in the fish-stocking business for 25 years. He was impressed, says Matt, with our little lake and commented that this was the best time of year to stock. The minnows should spawn three to four times per year to help establish a good food chain for the bass and bream. Once the bass get some size, the bream will become their main food source. We should have some good fishing in about two years. Thanks to Matt for taking the lead on this important event. For all of Matt's photos, check out the gallery...
THANKS MATT!

First Steps
Who are these guys?
Our first project involved putting in steps from the road to the lake. Stones came mostly from Susan's property from the stones used for the foundation on the original property. With the help of seasoned stone mason Ed Stone (I'm not kidding), we managed to end up with a pretty good product. Just think that in 20 years, we can look back on that day when we put these stones in place. Enjoy! For more pictures, check out the "Gallery".

Things to do in the area Check out the wide variety of things to do in and around The Cove. We are in the process of compiling a list of fun things to do including horse back riding, river excursions, local music and dancing events, along with our favorite places to eat. Please send suggestions for this section to our secretary and include as much information as you think will be necessary, including websites addresses, directions, etc. When we get enough content we'll post a page of "Things to Do". This is something that will get better with time. Contact webmaster. |
